buzub is a visual URL. Pick icons that represent you, or an idea. Then put those icons on gear. You are the only one who can use that exact set of icons in that order. Use that gear in the real-world to promote yourself or your idea. If someone sees you with your buzub ID, they can look you up here on buzub.com and get redirected to your web site, Facebook page, or a viral video - whatever you want. That's it for now but we'll be adding all kinds of cool things down the road.

You can get a four-icon set of icons for free. Three icons are $1/year. Two icons are $19/year. The gear (t-shirts and stickers for now) varies.

We think there's value in having a lower number of icons because it's easier to remember two things than four things. If you want to make an impression, you're better off if people have an easier time remembering your buzub ID. Not to mention the idea of scarcity - there are WAY fewer two-digit combinations of icons than 3-digit combinations. Remember permutations in math class?

First of all, email us and suggest some more icons. Second, try thinking outside the box a bit. You could find icons representing your interests or you can make a bit of a joke or put some words together to make a phrase. Dig deep and you're likely to find icons that you'll be comfortable with. And try icons in different orders. Just because "happy ballet shoes" is taken, doesn't mean you can't have "ballet shoes happy", you know?

The only way buzub can work is if the icons are universally recognizable. For example, everyone knows what a soccer ball is and when they see that icon, they can remember it because they associate the words "soccer ball" with the visual. And the illustrations help to make it simple and clear. If users submit their own icons, we may lose this critical feature. At some point down the road, we may consider user-submitted icons and put them through a quality control process but for right now we can't accept user-submitted icons. But we would LOVE your suggestions! (See the previous WTFAQ.)

Right now you cannot change your icons once you've selected them. At some point we may add this feature.

Right now, each icon set is tied to an email address and the system won't allow more than one icon set per email. Eventually we will allow more than one icon set per email. For now, if you want more than one icon set, just use a different email address. And let us know if this is important to you and we will bump it up the priority list!

Absolutely! Just make sure you're logged in, click on "My Identity", if you're not on that screen, and click on "My Account". Make any changes you need to there - including changing your email address or password - and click "Submit". The next person to look you up will get bounced to your new Bounce URL.

Nope. Come back and buy gear any time you like. The only time restriction is on buzub IDs. When you sign up for a buzub ID, unless it's a four-icon set, which is free, or you have a promo code that gets you free icon sets, those need to be purchased within 24 hours or someone else can register that icon set in your absence.

After picking a buzub ID, you have 5 minutes to finish signing up (by putting in your email address, password and bounce URL.) During those 5 minutes, no one else can register that icon set. After you finish, unless your buzub ID is free, you then have 24 hours to pay for it. Again, during that timeframe no one else can snatch that buzub ID.

Someone could snatch your buzub ID if you've missed the payment deadline. But you should try to login and see if it's still available even if you have missed the deadline. If so, you may be able to pay for it then.
